Promotional stylus pen
Here is a pen that really surprised me. Before we get into that, a little background information in the interest of "full disclosure."
This pen was given to me by a friend. It clearly strikes me as a "promo pen": the kind of things companies will purchase in mass quantities with their name/logo on it so they can promote themselves or use them internally.
This is not the first ink pen I have ever used that doubles as a stylus. Maybe one day I'll review one such pen that I purchased. I can say without hesitation that this is the best stylus/pen combo I have used.
Instead of putting the stylus on the far end so it looks like an eraser, this pen incorporates the design on the same end as the retractable tip. You can retract the tip and start using the stylus without having to flip the pen.
Of course, this also means that the stylus has a hole in it; that pen tip has to protrude from somewhere.

Believe it or not, the stylus works pretty well. It does not work quite as well as the regular stylus I use with my electronic devices, but considering that they don't double as acceptable writing instruments this pen does an admirable job. In more than a week of testing I have found it to be pretty good; enough so that I stopped carrying my normal stylus.
The writing experience with this pen is surprisingly good for a promo pen, too. Although not as smooth as a gel ink pen, this pen writes well and is comfortable. It has a bit of a bulb near the tip to allow some degree of writing comfort. I have seen this on other pens and really like it for skinny ink pens. It makes it bearable for me to write with them for longer periods of time.
The stylus tip does not get in the way much (just be sure to retract the ink pen before trying to use the stylus function). At times it obscures the tip from your view, making it perfect for children who want to tell their parents "I don't know how this ink got all over me, I didn't even see the tip out."
This pen is suitable for everyday carry. Its versatility as a stylus and a pen might free up some space in your pocket. This pen is not going to win any "favorite pen of all time" contests, but as a promo pen it greatly exceeded my expectations.
